Is there a scratch pad sort functionality in ms access 2000?

For those not familiar with what I am talking about, in actute reports, there is a scratchpad, which allows you to remove controls off the reporting interface and place them in a container where they are held. Its useful in times when a change is requested to remove something. It allows you to keep the control without deleting it in case the item is requested to be brought back in the future.

I couldn't find such a feature with access. Right now I've set the visible property for those contrls to NO, and placed them on top of other contrls in the frame. However this looks messy. Is there a neater way to do this?

Why not just remove them, then later when you want them just look at the Field List and bring back whichever ones you want.

Oh because I have them within boxes and some controls are calculated using IIFs etc.

Well, you can just make it invisible (VISIBLE = NO). Other than that, there is nothing like this "scratchpad" feature you speak of. You could always save a copy of the report with all of the controls on it, and on the "production" version of the report, only have the controls you want to currently show.
