I am working on setting up Exchange 2007 in my office. I currently have a test environment setup. I have enabled SCR and it is functioning fine. The issue I have is when I run a Normal NTBackup the transaction logs do not truncate. As soon as I disable the SCR NTBackup truncates the files fine. Is there something I am missing? Is there a work around or tool to handle this?

Thank you. I actually found the answer to this today. If you select the "Backup Remote Storage" in the Advanced options of NTBackup it purges the played logs.

As long as you're on Windows 2003, that works. What do you do when you're on Windows 2008?

You copy ntbackup from a windows 2003 box or you install windows 2008 sp2 which updates ntbackup to include an exchange aware backup...
