I have a customer running 5.0.6
Each time they go into scoadmin and exit a dump file is created in:
/usr/ccs/bin/elf/
back in February I conencted and found:
# ls -l dump*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 45 Feb 27 04:00 dump -> /opt/K/SCO/unixds/5.1.2A/usr/ccs/bin/elf/dump
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 45 Feb 11 07:56 dump# -> /opt/K/SCO/unixds/5.1.2A/usr/ccs/bin/elf/dump
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 46 Feb 11 07:56 dump## -> /opt/K/SCO/unixds/5.1.2A/usr/ccs/bin/elf/strip
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 45 Feb 13 04:00 dump### -> /opt/K/SCO/unixds/5.1.2A/usr/ccs/bin/elf/dump
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 46 Feb 20 04:00 dump#### -> /opt/K/SCO/unixds/5.1.2A/usr/ccs/bin/elf/strip
I simply removed all files called dump#*
This is not causing any problems for the customer (that we have found) other than the files being created. I would like to tell her that this is normal and to disregard the dump files, but I don't know for sure.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
