We are running a UnixWare 7.1.1 i386 x86at SCO Unix_SVR5 box. the problem is that it can't boot.
the error message is

"System coming up

init: /etc : Error "

I tried to create emergency boot disks from the images from ftp://ftp.caldera.com

When I try this stiffy's comes with another error

"Fatal Boot Error, Can't load Stage 3"

Regards

Im not so usual with SCO anymore. But, let me try to help you.
When the system is booting, there is a time when you can type the root password or press CTRL+D to go to maintenance mode (something like that). Right?
Is that available for you or the problem happens before?
