Hello,

I am currently working on a SCO UNIX computer and am trying to convert a parallel printer to a network printer. This system does not have scoadmin or sysadmsh for easy printer configuration. The O.S. is Unixware ver. 2.1.2.

The printer is an HP 4000t and I already configured it onto the network. The parallel drivers are already loaded onto the UNIX computer and the the UNIX is also on the network.

Can you please offer a solution.

Thank you very much,

Joe

I recently bought a used JetDirect Networkcard for my HP 4 Plus for 10 € at ebay.
A Testpage printed from the printer-menu showed the mac-address of the printer.
Setting up a dhcp-server on my linux-machine was an easy job: for the mac-address I send a static IP to the printer.
A few seconds later the printer accepted printjobs from the whole net.
