Sco unix and webtop without Microsoft VM

I am having a problem using Sun's Java instead of Microsoft java VM to use Unixware 7 webtop. Since microsoft is phasing out their java, I am trying to prepare by using sun's; however, i can login fine to webtop but i am unable to use any of the arrow keys or the functions keys like i can with microsoft. Any one have any ideas?
