I'm going nuts! I've gone over Sytems and Devices file in uucp, the inittab, and about every FAQ, SCO bulletins I can find, but I still get Call Failed: NO DEVICES AVAILABLE.
I can find nothing trying to use tty1a or tty1A. I've tried different diallers and Direct.
This was working OK when I got here, I have a USRobotics Sportster33.6. It's OK, I can move it to a PC and use it with no problems.

Is there anything special to look for in Morningstar PPP? I've gone over those files, PPP
isn't running, although someone else had it going and connecting to a local ISP.

Could someone be kind enough to respond as soon as possible? Thank you in advance!

for the time being don't worry about Systems.
You should have an ACU line in Devices covering the com port you want to use
You can uncomment the ACU line that you want to use.
You also need a Direct line in the file. This also is available in the file but commented.
I usually make 2 entries for Direct , one for modem port, and one for non-modem port.
In the ACU line you need a dialer mentioned as the last field. I use hayes2400 as it works out of the box. Then if needed I modify control codes in the Dialers file.
You also need the port in /etc/inittab for initialization. You may need to add a serial port if there isn't a line in inittab.
There should be devices available in /dev. Ownership and group should be uucp.
as root you should be able to cu -l tty(x)a dir and get a response of connected. then give modem commands to at least talk to the modem.
Once you talk to the modem you can worry about Systems. Ed Fair
