SCO Openserver6 won't reboot, sometimes

Having the exact same problem.

It happens randomly, sometimes it restarts fine, sometimes it hangs on the System is Down message.. only thing that works on that message is to hold the power button then start the system again.

HP says it's SCO's fault. SCO said it's HP's fault. Tipical.
 
If it's 5.0.7, look at this TA on SCO's web knowledge base:

Make sure all required patches are in place.

Also consider updating the servers firmware to the latest version.
