Does SCO 5.05 support Raid? If so what levels? James Collins

There are some third party products that will do software raid (1776, etc) and SCO has a product call Virtual Disk Manager (although i have never played with it), but I would suggest that you go with a hardware raid solution. Then it is just whether the OS supports the host adapter. We have had good results with the Compaq raid controllers.

How about adaptec RAID controllers? Any thoughts? James Collins

Don't do software raid.

Hardware raid is transparent to the OS (other than needing a driver for the controller).

I haven't recently used any adaptec raid controllers but have used AMI recently. Tony Lawrence
