I know its a silly question but I just need to verify it.

I've SiteA and SiteB connected in SCN.
A call comes in at siteA, call is being transferred to siteB and the call is connected at siteB. The question is will the VOIP trunk be tied up as long as the call is connected at siteB or will it drop trunk and send the call locally at siteB?

Any help is appreciated!

no harry potter will make it happen magically ......sorry thats unfair ....if a site transfer a call to another site across a scn then yes a h323/sip resource will still be utilised after the transfer is completed , unless site A transferes the call off net to the main number of site B and hangs up......then i think even more about your question and this is a question of my own to try and explain it more layman`s term.....bear with me i am trying to help ....Call Hits external Trunk on Site A, site A then transferes the Call to site B via SCN then hangs up (bearing in mind the call has come in on an site A external trunk)what happens to the call if site A then blows up because the IT manager spills his coffe all over the comms room....?

Answer that and you get your answer

It uses a channel.
when it is transfered back and direct media path is turned on then it is released.

What if siteA transfers the call to an extn in siteB, then? I understnad that if siteA transfers the call off net then it goes locally on siteB.
My concern is when the call is transferred to an extn in siteB, does the h323 trunk gets released or will it still be active as long as the call is active?

Of course it's still used the call has come in on A's line, how else can the call reach system B? As already mentioned unless you transfer externally to site B it has to use the IP line :)
