Hi,

I need to install 8 ip 406 with SNC activated. I will proceed with a configuration in star. Site 1 will be the central site. 7 ip trunk on the site 1 and only 1 ip trunk on the others

I want to know when the site 2 call the site 4 for exemple, the call pass by the site 1 (the central site) did i use a vcm channel on the central site ?

thank you in advance for your response.

Regards

You won't use VCM's on site 1 if:

1. All til IPO's can "see" each other directly. Meaning that: If you are using VPN's, then there has to be a configured tunnel between site 2 and 4 in your example.

2. You program the SCN as a star, with site 1 as the cenral point, as you mention.

3. All IP lines configured has "direct media path" activated.

In this way, all the RPT streams will pass directly from system to system, without using VCM channels on site 1.

But if you get the dreaded one way conversation then you will have to unselect direct media and use a vcm channel.
