I need some clarification. We are moving an IP500V1 from another town to a building in the same park as the "Home" office. Home office has IP500V1 as well with VMPRO. We have connected the two buildings with fiber and will have a switch at new building for IT network. Plan is to install IPO #2 in new building so as not to have to upgrade to all IP phones.
Both systems are 8.1(67) now and will be upgraded to 9.1 at time of move.
Now the need for clarification, since both systems are not leaving the network, ie.. both systems inside same gateway, how should the routes be set tn the IPO's?

If they are in the same subnet range i.e 192.168.42.X then IP routes don't matter, as they will not be checked :)

Thanks amriddle01, so just a default route in each unit using each other as the opposite's gateway?

No, no routes are needed at all. Well not to each other, only if you use NTP or SIP trunks etc
IP Routes are only required/checked for leaving your local network and they aren't :)

I'd consider making the 2 sites different subnets and routing traffic over the fibre link!

generally, smaller broadcast domains are better

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
