We have two sites with Lan 2 Lan VPN, we also have an SCN between both we have noticed the SCN goes out of service recently despite the VPN tunnels staying up.

The only way we can bring them into service again is by changing the outgoing group id on the trunk and on the shortcode, as soon as we reboot then the trunk goes down and stays down.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you

Run your sysmon with the SCN filters and see what's going on.

Type of systems and versions ?
Generally this is a network or firewall issue.

Hi All,

I have one Avaya IP Office 500 on version 9.1 on IP address 192.168.2.249 and one on 192.168.1.249, the lan to lan vpn is staying up.

The SCN went down at 0100 this morning and to get it up I just go to the line properties and change the outgoing group ID and then the short code to route the calls and merge and the SCN trunks come up again, if it were a network issue surelt they would stay down?

Do the tunnels actually stay up during rekey?

How often does this happen, if it happens as the Phase1 and Phase2 timeouts it's probably since communication doesn't stay up during rekey.
Are both sites using the same brand of firewall/vpn router?
