Hi everyone,

I have a big problem with 2 system in SCN.

VPN with 2 Cisco RV042
2 X IP Office 500 V2 9.0 Service pack 4 (Recently upgrade at SP5)
help
When one of them fall down (cause of power failure exemple) The SCN goes down (until here that normel) But when the system came up the SNC stay out of service. So we need to make a reboot on both system for put both in fonction.

Someone have an idea ? VPN ? IPO ? BUG (try whit SP4 and SP5)

Thank a lot for your help

Mike

Your IPO's coming back up faster than the VPN/Modem.
After x tries, the IPO gives up.

Get a few UPS units installed, that should have been done during install anyway.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Thank Gunnar for your answer.

But i'm pretty sure that not the problem.

I have UPS install at each system... always.

I have a couple of SCN and that the first time i saw that.

Normally when the link between each system goes down... the SCN is out of service and when the link came up the system link restart automatic.

Whith this client.. it like he don't do the handshake between each system and we need to restart both system...

If things are on UPS, why would this occur then?

Kind regards

Maybe i don't use the good word, sorry about that.

Power failure as No electricity for couple of hour so the UPS do the job for 45 minutes/1 hour but for couple of hour, normally we lost all equipment.

How about modems and routers, are they also on the UPS?

It could even be that your VPN connection times out, needing a little kick in the side to wake up again.

Kind regards

Gunnar

The UPS is pointless if it doesn't last longer than your average power cut :)

Next time this happens reboot just the router(s) not the system, I will wager that also fixes it, then you know it's the router at fault, I have seen this before and it was the routers :)

Yes all equipment is on a UPS.

For the VPN i can ping bothway the IP Office fron the system status.

Rebuild the IP line then, if you haven't done that already.

Maybe start trace to file as well, so you can go back and see what happened.

Kind regards

Gunnar
