Its been a long week already, and I need some help on something that I know the answer too but just can't come up with right now. I'm installing an IP Office at a branch location without MPLS or VPN connection at the moment. This will come in the future it's just not there now. I need to build a simple IP line across the public network from the branch location to the corporate office. I understand there will be no QoS or anything like that I simply need to have four digit dialing going across the network that works when it works until we get the MPLS in place. am I imagining that this will work or is there actually a procedure for this that I'm just not able to come up with at this time. Keeping in mind at the corporate location I have the lan1 going from the IP Office to their switch and the wan port is used for their sip trunk. Any input is appreciated I'm simply drawing a blank here.

All it takes is port forwarding the correct ports through your router. It is totally not recommended.

Port forwarding will not work, NAT will stop the voice traffic from working, it needs to be a proper routed connection :)

As this is a temporary solution why not create short codes to dial the DDI at the other location & route the calls via your sip provider?

if you have the right provider the probably possibly will not be charging for those calls either

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
