HI,

Currently, I am running a W2k3Enterprise R1 domain on a machine and have exchange 2003 installed on another machine that has Win2000 Advanced Server in it. Both of them are working fine right now. I am trying to upgrade a member of domain to be an emergency domain controller, which will be a W2k3Standard R2. I know I have to upgrade the schema on the domain controller to R2 in order to have the bring up the emergency domain controller since that member is on a W2k3Standard R2. My concern is about the schema on the machine that has Exchange since its schema is R1. Could anyone tell me if I need to upgrade the schema on exchange to R2?? Any inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Desmond

You don't update the Schema on Exchange, you update it on AD, the same way you added the Exchange schema entries to AD during XC setup.

Just run ADPREP from the 2nd R2 disk and you'll be fine.
