schema not extended

I installed exchange 2000 server on a member srvr in a active dir domain.

The install goes ok, but I do not think the schema was extended correctly.

When I go into Active Dir Users & Computers on the DC & add a user, it does not prompt me to create an exchange mailbox for the new user.

If I go to the properties on the new user, there is no exchange tab.

Good morning

First lets find out if the schema was installed

if you do not have the schema manager in installed in a snap in then you need to create it

1. At run "regsrv32 (c:\winnt\system32\schmgmt.dll"
2. At run "MMC"
3. in Console go to "ADD-Snapin"
4. Add directory Schema

Now you can see if the exchange attributes have been added

if they haven't you are in good shape

if they have then you are in a bit of trouble.
