Hi All

I'm using BOE XI and have a number of reports that I want to be able to schedule to run overnight.

The issue I have is that the reports have manual date range parameters. Some reports should be run monthly, pulling the previous months Sales Info, some should run weekly, pulling the previous week's Sales Info.

My question is, is there a way in BOE XI where I can set these reports to run on a recurring basis while automatically setting the date range parameters to use say the dates from the previous week (Monday - Sunday)?

I know that the date range can be coded into the report itself, negating the need for paramater fields, but I just wondered if this functioanlity is also available anywhere within BOE XI.

Thanks for your help in advance.

You just have to change your Crystal report to match your scheduling intentions.

Depending on what the users want, I can pretty much design the Crystal Report and schedule it to meet their needs. With over 100 scheduled repoerts, With Crystal Reports, haved used many of the date range functions or created my own range using the dateserial function (like YTD through last month).

If you can provide more specifics....

Thanks for your input kskid.

I've amended the reports to run without parameters, setting the Start Date to CurrentDate - 7 and End Date to CurrentDate - 1 and then schedule them to run on a Sunday night. This will then give me the previous weeks Sales info.

I just wondered if there was a way you could do this in BOE XI without having to alter the reports at all. If not, no problem as this solution provides the info I need.

You could use

{table.datefield} in minimum(lastfullweek)+1 to maximum(lastfullweek)+1

to get last full week data for Monday - Sunday. As you know, the LastFullWeek function is Sunday to Saturday. Then your report could run anytime (multiple times?) during the current week and get the same data back.

If I understand you correctly, you want to use the same report for different ranges with BOXI specifying the ranges. It is possible through CMC using the process tab and filter option. Within the filter, you can make the changes. However, it can get unwieldy tracking and scheduling the different instances that results, especially following a change to the report itself.
