Hi,

We have a report that needs to run after a program object has finished which I can achieve using a file-based event, and scheduling to run after that event.

However, I don't know when or how often the program will be run.

If I schedule the report to run every minute waiting for the above event then what effect will this have on the server - will it create a heavy load?

There are likely to be several instances where I need to do this and I need to make sure that I don't bring the server to a crawl.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Darran

I've had this situation in the past. We got around it by not using file events at all. Instead, the program would schedule the report to run via web service whenever the program finished. I no longer work for that company, however, and don't have access to the code.

Can the report be driven off of the program object and put in an object package. Then it's the package that is run, not the program object directly?
