I'm sure this is out there within the questions, but I am unable to see it, so here it is.

First, the specifics - NetWorker 6.1.3, Sun L1000 jukebox w/ 1 device, 30 slots of DLT IV tapes/ 1 cleaner, 4 Unix clients, 6 Windows clients.

Second, the situation/question - client wants to do a full backup of each system on Sunday w/ daily incrementals, also another full backup on Sunday for offsite storage. I've labeled 4 tapes for the full backup w/ incr. for the Windows and 4 tapes for the full backup / incr. for the Unix.
The client wants to have the offsite backups done on one set up tapes to be stored offsite during one week, then another week's tapes during the second week. Therefore, I've labeled 2 tapes week one Windows offsite and 2 tapes week one Unix offsite, with 2 other tapes week two Windows offsite and 2 other tapes as week two Unix offsite.
Now the question - do I setup 6 different Volumes, i.e. Windows, windows week one, windows week two, Unix , Unix week one, Unix week two? Or is it a Pool question, or a Group question?

Thanks,

Automatic "data sorting" can only be done via pools. So
you need to setup 6 pools.

Unfortunately, you need to enable/disable the weekly pools
manually as NW does not allow to setup two pools with the
same parameters.

Another possibility is to start the group from the command
and to use the -b option to write to a specifc pool.

Thanks, I was thinking of writing a weekly cron job to handle the offsite backup situation. Should be quite simple.
