Scheduling Clustered Services to Stop ?

We have an application that is clustered and we need to stop the clustered application services during a backup. We have tried the "Net Stop" of the service, but then it fails over to the other server. Any suggestions??

try using the cluster.exe commandline interface. Should be working. Syntax can be found on microsoft technet.
