Scheduling based on irregular periods

I have a report which shows sales in given statistical periods (based on a start date and end date parameter), which is run manually when required.

I'd like to schedule it to Enterprise, but am unsure how to set-up the schedule. The report is over either 4 or 5 week periods, but obviously if I simply use a calendar, the report doesn't have start and end dates to work with.

Is it possible to create a schedule that runs a report based on the 'period since last run'????

I'm using CR 2008 to write the reports, and CR Server 2008 for deployment.

I wonder if the following might help: faq149-1961. Once you have the periods defined, it might be easier to use them in the selection formula.
