Hi guys:

Is it possible to have a query that updates automatically?
Say overnight?
I need to pull a chunk of data out of oracle and have written a button to do so.

.....................Which the users forget to press.

We have exchanged our viewpoints on this (!!) but i would like to think a scheduler in Windows might help.

Thanks again in anticipation

I used a timer event on a form that I left running, which did update queries on a regular basis (interval set by the user). However, Windows Scheduler and a Script might be a better solution for you. Just paste the code from your button into the script and then schedule a command line run of it during the night. Maybe have it drop a text logfile on your desktop to let you know how it went. Mac :)

Thanks a lot!! That was fast.
Since I am in the UK and now at home you will have to give me a day or so to run it. Thanks Again!

Remember to add an exit() command at the end of the script to close Paradox. If you need any help just post :) Mac :)

Langley's suggestion is the way to go, I update my website at night using that method. I added a little code that gives me an error message if things didn't run correctly.
