I have a DTS package with some VBScripting used in formatting data and exporting it to a flat text file.

I'm trying to schedule it to run as a job within the SQL Server Agent. I use the following command line.

dtsrun /S <servername> /U <username> /N <dts name>

From the DOS command line it runs fine, but when I try to run it within a job it errors out every time. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Jon

Sometimes this is related to the permissions granted to the account running the sql server agent. If this OK, then make sure that you have SP2 installed (assuming you have SQL 2K), it corrects several issues on this regard.

Try this it may work

Schedule The DTS package by right clicking the Package in the DTS Design Window. Now go to Jobs and Locate the Job the code, which shd be something like

DTSRun /~Z0xBhjk789ofg7C179822AA835F9EA57D4B30Bhgrdhs7A506AF5DF20EA93DF48558rqsg5668176FD57966E445DDB25F7E3112D1F55D556B5D570DE686790hdhfngu33F8E935307C53925F477F93E94DE6BC515F5F8C1871964BE8E72329888C586A2B9EF6056C2B324418193
