not sure if this is the right forum but im using XP Pro and trying to set up a scheduled task using windows task scheduler to run when my computer is logged off. i made sure to not check the button that says to run it only when im logged on and i also made sure the enabled button was checked. I have all the appropriate permissions to run a scheduled task and im typing in the right username and password but it wont run when im logged off. do you have to be logged on to use it or am i doing something wrong?

ddrocket5292,
it depends what your task is doing.
if key strokes then you must be logged in, i believe.
have you tried running the task under the admin or system account?
regards,
longhair

Make sure you go over all the options such as "wake the computer" if it is shut down at the task time. I've also noted an oddity at times of the log saying it couldn't perform the task when in fact it has.
