Scheduled tasks does not run when NOT logged in

I cannot figure this one out....

I have a dedicated tasks scheduler user account I run to run some after hours tasks.

For some reason, I cannot get a task to run with this account when not physically logged into the server. IF I'm logged in, the task runs fine.

Any ideas? User is an Administrator of the server and I've tried using the Administrator account without any luck. This task is required to access networked shares if that helps.

nelifecare,

Have you tried running this as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM or NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE? You do not have to put in a password unless you want to.

Jeremy,

Silly question.

In task properties the box Run only if logged on is unchecked right?

Peter.

Remember- It's nice to be important,
but it's important to be nice :)

Hi,

I'm not sure if NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM or NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE will work. I tried NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE and it wanted a password.

Peter, yes, that box is unchecked.

Not sure if this matters or not...the application I am calling is an Access DB with an AutoExec macro which is run as soon as the DB is opened. Not sure if there is some type of security issue/patch that may have caused this to stop. This was working fine until last week or so.

Thanks for the replies,

Jeremy

I'm still not able to figure this out. Does anyone know of any security updates that may have "broken" the capability of a task to run an Access DB with an AutoExec macro?

This was working just last week or so.

Jeremy

Hi again,

Is the access db on the local machine?

Peter

The access DB is on a network share. For giggles (testing), I created a DB on the local machine resulting in the same. Does not run. So it's not a network or permissions issue.
