Scheduled Scans won't delete from Clients

I created a daily scheduled scan a few weeks ago to make sure that an outbreak didn't spread too rapidly, and now that I have deleted it from the Scheduled Scans property of that server under the System Centre Console, they client machines still do the scans; how do I get rid of them?
