Hi,

I'm using CR Enterprise 10 on a server to schedule a number of reports. As of yesterday the reports haven't run, the're stuck in "Running" mode. I can't see any messages that could be of help. This has worked fine for about a month.

The only change on the server is that I the day before yesterday installed Crystal Reports 10 to be able modify some of the reports directly on the server. I did not restart the server after the installion, I did it today. Could that cause this problem? I can use Crystal Reports to generate the reports, but generating them from CR Enterprise does not work.

Thankfull for any help given.

CR-10 install shouldn't have caused the issue, but it may have if your CD install of CR-10 over-wrote some of the CR/CE common files that have been patched by different service-packs and fixes that you ran on the CE box in the past.

You may need to reapply the service packs and hot fixes to the same level that your CE server was at before the CD install of CR-10.

There are other things that may cause this issue on CE-10 -

How many CMS services are you running, on what kind of servers/processors...?

How many scheduled jobs are you triggering at one-time (eg. 2 AM)...?

Has anything changed on the database or ODBC side recently..?

MJRBIM,

Thanks for the reply. I tried patching up CE, but it didn't solve the problem. So my next approach was to uninstall CR and CE, that worked fine. But when I tried to install CE again, it detected MS SQL Server on the machine. For some reason, I don't have the username/password to be able to create an instance for CE, so I uninstalled MSSQL. It took a while to do that since it wasn't listed in "Add or remove programs".

Now I try to install a fresh and clean CE, but the installation app says that there's a MSSQL installed on the machine. I don't know the username/password to be able to create a new instance for CE. From info on the Internet I can see that the "admin" user in MSSQL is 'sa', but I don't know the password :-(.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again.
