We have DTS Packages that are scheduled to run nightly and show up in EM under JOBS under SQL Server Agent. A password got changed and some of the nightly jobs blew up.

Went into the Packages and entered the new password and successfully executed the packages BUT when I go back to jobs under the SQL Server Agent, the jobs STILL will not run - they fail with a login failure - as if i never fixed the DTS package. HELP

I would try dropping the scheduled task and reschedule the DTS package with the new password.

Thank you much!!! I did that and everything is fine now.

I had the same issue once and had to confirm that the services with the account that the password was changed have all been updated.

Also - before I made those changes I confirmed the job ran successfully (overnight)with the local account.

Once I updated the password - everything ran fine.

I thought everything was fine. All my 'rescheduled' jobs have been running fine... but all of the rescheduled jobs have NO JOB HISTORY when I write click on them (under sql agent) !!!! Any ideas??

They have no history at all, or no history since before you dropped and recreated the job?

If you are looking for the history from before you dropped and recreated the job that history is gone.

If you are missing current history then either another job has a lot of steps and it's running often, or your SQL Agent settings for job history are set to low.

There is no history at all. I'm not looking for history from BEFORE the jobs were recreated - just History since. Some of the recreated jobs are daily, some weekly. How do I check the Agent settings for job history?

Right click on the SQL Agent, properties. One of the tabs will have the info you are looking for.

Max job history log size 1000 rows
Max rows per job 100.

That looks fine. Check out the other thread you started.
