I finally have a scheduled integration working that runs a standard adapter integration with IM. I have 2 scheduled tasks: One to log into GP, then one to run the Integration Group. After the integration is done, the IMRUn.exe ends. However, the Dynamics.exe is still running. THe vbscript to close the application does not work and Microsoft wants over $300 for a fix to this issue. I have set the scheduled task to end if it runs for over 2 hours, but since it requires 3 separate tasks to run the application (ie Dynamics.set, then exe, then macro), it won't end the task. I also had to create a sql job to delete the integration user from the activity file, as that would cause it to fail as well.

This integration isn't going to run tomorrow as today's is technically still running unless I manually end the task each day, which defeats the whole purpose.

Is there a way to end this GP session after the integration is done?

Have you read the Integration Manual? You can combine the login and integration within the same scheduled task. Also, do you have AutoDIm? This is the tool from Microsoft that will shut down Dynamics. I had gotten it free but I have no idea if it costs anything. Check with your var.

Yes I got the syntax for the macros etc. from the manual (version 7.5 pages 123-125) but it doesn't mention anything about combining them. WHat page does it appear on?

The AutoDim must be purchased from Microsoft at $250US, so I just installed the Win 2k tooks and scheduled the kill.exe to close Great Plains as well as having a sql job setup to delete the user setup to run the integration from the activity file.

You will need AutoDim for this...but here is a sample. I do not have my book available.

C:\eEntrprsv7\dynamics.exe dynamics.set C:\importMacs\loginrls.mac,C:\eEntrprsv7\IM\Imrun.exe /I "Gate Micros Import"

Using your syntax doesn't seem to start the integration. I have the following 2 tasks setup:

1
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Great Plains\Dynamics.exe" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Great Plains\Dynamics.set" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Integration Manager\LogIntoGP.mac"

2
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Integration Manager\IMRun.exe" /G eTrackit /S

These run fine within the scheduled tasks, but the first record always fails with foreground error. MS TK says it's because task to start Great Plains and the task to start the integration are too close together, so I changed the timing to be 30 minutes apart, but still have the error.
