Scheduled cube refresh fails but works manually

Hi.

I am having problems getting a scheduled cube refresh to run.
I have created a DTS package in Enterprise Manager which I can run manually (right click, select Execute Package). I have also scheduled it to run, but that fails. Unfortunately I can't see a way of getting a meaningful message so I don't know what needs fixing.

Does anyone know how to get a meaningful error message?
Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?

OK. Now I'm well confused.

It seems my analysis was slightly wrong. When I tried to run manually yesterday it worked, but not today. So I went into AS and manually processed the cube, but that failed because the dimensions needed updating.

So it seems the reason it failed was because one or more transactions related to a new product not included in the Product dimension.

But when I created the DTS package I selected full process, although I didn't select the box to incrementally update dimensions.

Perhaps it's a petty point, but am I right in thinking that a Full Process is not as full as I think it is, in that the dimensions don't get updated unless I specifically ask it to?

Hi Flybridge,

It sounds like we you are talking about more that one thing here. I can however start by making a suggestion on one thing and that is that you will need to check your parameters in the schedule that you have created within SQL server. If you are going to make use of CMD promt parameters within your schedule then, it would have to look something like this:

dtsrun /SERVERNAME /E /N "Your_Cube/Table"
