Hi, does anyone know if it's possible or how to schedule for any services in NT to start or stop at a specific hour?

I'd would like to back up my Exchange files to another disk on a separate server, and only way for it to work is to stop all Exchange services.

I have Backup Exec but as far as i can tell, it doesn't allow restoring Exchange files to other location.

apprecaite any help.

cheers

Create a batch file with

net stop "<service name>"

in it. If you have more than one service, put one per line.

Then create another (seperate) batch file with

net start "<service name>"

in it. Then just use the AT command, or the Task Scheduler in My Computer (if installed), to run those at a scheduled time. Note you can also use Backup Exec to do a pre- and post- backup execution of these scripts. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
