Have been using CR8.5 for some time but have just loaded Enterprise.

Can publish and run reports and view successfully.

However when I attempt to schedule a report to run at a specific time, either daily or every ?? hours, the time I select is discarded and the time is set for current time plus about 2 minutes.

The report runs in 2 minutes time and runs succsessfuly, but if it is scheduled to run daily, the new time defaults to the current time next day, and not the time I selected.

ie I am trying to run reports daily at 7:00 am but time always defaults to current + 2 mins.

Same thing happens if I use Publishing Wizard.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there,

Are we talking CE 8 or 8.5? Also, are webserver and CE server on the same box? I have heard issues like that with some time zones - what time zone are you in?

Enterprise 8 which comes with CR8.5.

Enterprise and Crystal Reports loaded on same server as IIS.

I have set up local timezone correctly, ie GMT + 10.

Ah, hence the 'aus'

Well, I'm curious: did you try changing the time zone on your computer (system time) and possible the time zone setting in the ePortfolio to North American time? GMT -5 to -8.

Well, strange things certainly happen when you play around with timezones.

Here is what I tried.

Set computer and enterprise both to GMT.
computer time 5:16am - set occurrence to 7:00am - defaulted to 7:16pm
ie enterprise added 14 hours

Set computer to local time GMT+10
Set enterprise to GMT-8 (Pacific US)
at 3:11pm set occurrence to 7:00am and defaulted to 10:11pm
ie enterprise added 7 hours to current time

at 3:12pm set occurrence to 10:00am and defaulted to 10:12pm
ie enterprise added 7 hours to current time

Not sure if this makes any sense to you but leaves me totally confused.

But at least if I play around with the timezone in enterprise I should be able to get reports to run some time in early morning.

regards

Actually during testing I may have stumbled across answer.

I have been trying to set most of my reports to run daily at around 7:00am. But I have usually been setting the time in the afternoon or during business hours. In other words I have always been attempting to set the time to an earlier time. It looks like you can only set the time forward of the current time?

However this presents a problem if you are trying to set the report daily at an early AM time. It looks like this means that to set a report to run at 7:00am, you need to actually schedule the report between midnight and 7:00am for it to be accepted!!

Anyway a solution of sorts is to reset the time on the computer to a time earlier than the time you want the report to run. This is a minor inconvenience but at least it produces the required result.

Have found that this is a known issue with Crystal Enterprise (English) version 8.0.2.672
and has been tracked.

A file update addressing this issue is available for English deployments.
The update file name is CE80SDK.ZIP.

Applied updtae and this did resolve issue.
