How would I go about scheduling a report to run, export to .pdf and save the .pdf file in a specified directory.
Can this type of functionality be acheived in Crystal Enterprise.
Can you recommend any good guides/books about this area of Crystal (SDK I presume)

jonbrown,
I see you haven't had any responses on tek-tips, but did you get an answer from another source? We are trying to do the same thing. Like us, you're probably able to accomplish the retrieval as a pdf using the asp code: <a href="but as perhaps you've seen, the export is really slow (e.g. 210 pages of CR took us 2+ minutes to generate the PDF over our network).

I think you could probably program this in VB using the Report Designer Component that comes with CR 8.5/CE (Crystal Enterprise) 8.0, but since I haven't yet tried it, I can't say for sure. For now, we're stuck saving the CR as PDF on the server and putting a link on the ASP to the PDF.

We're not making the leap to Crystal Enterprise until version 9 is released, but it can definitely be done in Seagate Info so I assume that Enterprise supports the same scheduling options.

You can schedule to .pdf format and save it to any directory; you can have it do so automatically at the same time or times every day.
