I need to schedule extension 3131 so that Monday -Friday from 6am-5pm it goes to 3131, but outside of that time & on Saturday & Sunday it needs to go to extension 3001. I've created an app that has a Day control, a time control, and two call transfer options. I tried setting the time and testing it, but it still went to the 3131 when I tried it outside of the listed hours. What am I doing wrong???

I don't know what an SDN is.
3131 is a real extension on a phone.
Thanks for your reply.

A SDN is a service directory number which you assign under the system tab on the call pilot home page. The thing is you cannot have 3131 as a SDN and an extension. It has to be one or the other.

The way I have it setup is 3131 is setup with call forwarding. I made the Application Builder app and went into call pilot and setup the SDN. I call this number and inside that time, it rings to 3131 and outside that time it rings 3 times to 3131 then forwards to 3001. Is there anyway I can just have it forward straight to 3001 outside those hours? It's not the worst if it can't be done since I at least have it forwarding at all.

So it needs to look like this.

SDN (3131) routes to the time of day table. If between 0700 and 1700, calls route to new DN because 3131 is now a SDN. Outside those hours, route to 3001. 3131 needs to be removed from the phone completely. It can only be a SDN for this to work correctly. The phone that used to be 3131 needs a new DN and then add it to teh time of day app. Make sense?

So, in order for this to work, I can't have 3131 be a ringable extension any more? That's not an option. That is our data processing department so that number cannot change.
What if I created a phantom number and used that for the SDN? I see our menus have numbers like that in the SDN.
So, say I created 1703 as a phantom. Could I make that a SDN, that routes to the time of day? That way between those certain hours calls would still route to 3131 and outside it would go to 3001.
I hope my logic makes sense. :)

That would work but whose going to know what the new number is for the data processing if you use a phantom? If you use 3131 for the SDN, it will still go to the data center. Just replace that number with even a non DID and add that number number to the application. It reall is transparent to the callers. Make sense?

Somehow the system will know 3131 even if that phone is setup with extension 3132? I don't understand how that works.

So as not to mess with the system, I built a couple test extensions to test. I built 3116 & 3120. I setup 3031 as the SDN in call pilot manager, setup 3120 as an actual extension on a phone and 3116 as the phone I want it to forward to. When I dial 3031, I get a busy signal. Isn't that because the number doesn't exist? That's the same thing that would happen to 3131 since it wouldn't technically exist. I'm confused...

So now go to your list of SDN's and click on 3131. Find "application names" and assign the application you built for this and save. Then in the PBX, build 3131 as a phantom DN direct call forwarded to your voicemail pilot number. See example;

I will do that on Tuesday. I am leaving for the day and out of the office tomorrow and Monday. I'll let you know Tuesday what I find. Thanks.

Instead of doing all of this, have you thought about using CRTOD?

Call Redirection by Time of Day (CRTOD) adds flexibility to the existing
operations of Call Forward No Answer, Hunting and Call Forward by
Call Type by allowing incoming calls to be automatically redirected to a
predefined Directory Number at a specified time of day.

For one set, i would use yyrkroon's solution. Refer to Gene's document at Link

Sorry, I had so much catching up to do today from being out, I didn't get a chance to work on this.
We'll see what tomorrow brings...
I will try to update you before end of week.

After talking with management, the end result is this: the data processing phone rings 5 times and then redirects to itself after those 5 times within business hours. Outside of business hours, it rings 5 times to data processing and then forwards to 3001. This was the easiest way to do it without making a whole lot of changes to the system.
Thanks to everyone that gave input. It was much appreciated.
