Hi there,

Hoping someone out there may have seen this before. We recently replaced our PCs with new PCs in our office that has Webclient 4.5. Since then we've had issues with the Real Time displays not working. It seems the 3rd party controls weren't installing correctly or at all. We got them manually installed so the rest of the webclient is working properly, but the Real Time Displays are still not working. You can get all the way to the Launch Display screen, press Launch Display for any display format and the pop-up opens like it's going to launch and then it just sits there saying Please Wait while Downloading Files. Nothing else happens ever.

Has anyone ever seen this? Or know how we might be able to fix it?

We tried running the ICETrace tool and got errors.

First question- did you have WebClient running on the old ones or was this a case of doing both at once...new pcs as well as moving to WebClient?

From the symptoms you gave I'd look at the ActiveX permissions first, then the SOAP download stuff, then DNS/hostnames setup. These three areas are where we found the majority of our problems. Beyond that you'll probably need to get the ICETrace stuff running to get an accurate picture of what is happening.

If you are getting errors with the ICETrace utility, it sounds like you may be having problems with multicast?

If these are XP Pro machines, you may want to check the settings in the Personal Firewall or try disabling the Personal Firewall and see if that helps.
