scavenge STATIC entries

I recently joined a company that has a lot of dead static entries and I want to know if there is a easy way to "scavenge" these? I know that DDNS entries can be scavenged but statis are a manual process. Is there any free ware utilities or anything that would help with this because I have 20,000 entries to go through and pinging each one is not going to work.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
