Do I need to leave scanregistry in the run folder in my registry or can I delete it out of there so it doesnt load on startup? Ladin

You should leave it. It's the windows function that backs up the registry to the c:\windows\sysbckup folder (the .cab files in there) so if you have a crash you can restore the reg from up to 5 days previously.
It only runs once per 24hour period at the first boot up of the day, and only takes a few seconds, then it completely unloads itself from memory.
As far as I'm concerned, it's the ONE thing that's a real improvement over Win95...leave it. Cheers,
Jim
