My all in one printer prints properly, but says the scanner is not connected. Why is it doing this?

Which model do you have?

Are you getting a specific error message (any numbers in it)?

One thing you can try is clearing the scanner memory. You can do this in the menu. If for some reason information got corrupted or an error happenned, this can cause the scanner to be "busy" and the printer will not recongize it. Also, try unplugging the printer for twenty seconds, then plugging it back in. This also can clear the memory, but does not always work for the scanner.
