Scanning with asp

i need to scan a photo and then load it up to the webserver. This needs to be done in different places, so i thought i'd do it webbased and maybe there's a script that can control the scanner, like printing from a webpage?

ASP can help only when the image is about to be uploaded to the server, as for scanning that is a client computer activity over which ASP has no control...
