Scanning to PDF

I have a problem with merging or even creating PDF files from my auto feed scanner. Auto feed scan into PDF only scans the first sheet and then just feeds the other sheets through. My OS is Windows 2000 Professional; software is Adobe’s Acrobat 6 with HP’s ScanJet 8250. All of the latest HP drivers are installed.
