I bought a new Hewlitt Packard scanner and after calling HP learned that when I installed the portion that has to do with "sending the scan to email" Windows didn't like it and that is why I got a message saying "a file has been damaged beyond repair". I then elected not to use that feature. After that the formatting bar on my compose font(I use IE4) faded out but is still working I just can't see the buttons. HP's answer was to run Windows again but I have been told to be cautious in doing this.....I don't want to lose anything.
