Scanning software

Hi Guys,

I'm running Silverfast V6 through PhotoshopCS twain plugin (Epson 1600).
When I was in OS9, the scanner scanned in one continuous pass,
Now I'm in OSX the scanner pauses for Silverfast to chatch up.
This happens on other macs with a Umax Powerlook 2100XL.

Worked like a charm on OS9, anyone had the same problem?

I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't effect the quality of your scans. That said you could try increasing the memory allocation to the Silverfast software.

No, I usually wouldn't worry about, only it has decreased my productivity heaps.
It takes alot longer just to do one scan.
I didn't think you could increase memory in OSX

The pause isn't normal.

It's not the memory that you need to increase it's the cache. Still, you shouldn't have to change it - it should be set correctly.

Did you download the new drivers for OSX?

Twain? In OSX? That could be the problem.

Running either way (twain or SF launcher) doesn't make a difference.
The scanner still pauses for Silverfast to catch up.

How do I increase the Cache??

I can't be the only person out there that this happens to???
