scanning engine version mis-reporting 1

Running ePO 3.0.2a we have a significant No (5%) of VSE 7.1 clients reporting an out of date scanning engine.
When machine visited the engine is actually upto date.
The OS of affected clients is win2K-sp4 and NT-sp6a

Has anybody experienced this problem??

You can run the sdat manually with a /f trigger to fix the registry problem..

these are the triggers I use

sdat4413.exe /SILENT /LOGFILE C:\SDAT 4413.LOG /f

Actually I think the /f is a force engine upgrade... or something like that... force? fix? it should fix your problem...
