Scanning Drivers Licenes 1

I'm not sure where to post this question. I am looking for a device that can scan drivers licenes into a file (jpg, pdf, etc). I will be out in the field while doing this so I won't be able to connect to a computer that often so the device will need to store the images in its memory. What we would like to be able to see is the face on the drivers license more than anything? I tried using an HP Capshare 920 but the image doesn't come out right. Any ideas would be helpful.

Use this with a laptop and you are all set.
If you can't afford a laptop, maybe you can buy a digital camera and take pictures of the drivers licenses...

I've tried taking a picture with a digital camera but the pics dont come out that well. You can't see the picture. Thanks a lot for your help.
