NMAP and Nessus are some of the tools you can use.
Is this your own PIX or are you doing it for someone else? If it's your own, it's best to get an independent 3rd party to do the testing. Also, if your doing this from a different subnet through the internet, it's best to let both parties ISP know. Some ISP AUP/TOS prohibits any type of port scanning.
