I would like to be able to perform the following sequence:
1. Scan a complete document in the foreground (waiting for the scan to complete). This is using an in-house program.
2. Use the image that has just been scanned by displaying it.
3. While working with this image, another image is being scanned on the same form (in a predefined area).
All of this is being run by one program. The problem I need to solve is how to have the program run a scan of this predefined area in the background (there is no need to tell me when it has finished, but I'll need to know
if a problem has been found).
Is this possible because I am led to believe that it is not. I am told that I cannot scan in the background (resources or something like that).
Thank you for any help.
