scanner won't recognise apps

I am currently using an Epson Perfection 610. I have Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and Imaging for Windows 2000 Pro. When I press the scan button on the scanner, a dialog box pops up for the scanner and asks which application I would like to use, but there aren't any options. I'm pretty sure i'ts a driver problem but I'm not sure. I can scan when already inside the selected application.

This little snippet might provide the answer:

Q: The OneTouch feature is not working with my scanning program.

A: The one touch function only works with programs that are OneTouch compliant, like Presto Pagemanager and Windows 98 Imaging. These applications support linking scanner events with the Start button on Windows 98 and enable the scanner monitor utility. For details on how to set up one-touch scanning, see "Using the Start Button" in your EPSON TWAIN User's Guide.
