Hi All,

I'm having a problem with one employee's use of a scanner it's a fujitsu Twain Scanner (Although i'm the sure the brand makes no difference)
The outline of the problem was placed in thread750-988472
but not replied to.
This singular employee cannot scan documents using the scanner connected to her computer, Other users can log on at her WS and it works, Admin can log on at her WS and it works. She, however, cannot get an identical scanner on another WS to wokr under her username.
This leads me to believe that it it almost certainly a problem with her individual environment. I just can't find it...!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded with a virtual pint.

Tx, Jag

As this must be a network, most probably one from MS:

Delete her as a user, re install her as a user using a clone/make like this user,,,where "this user" is one that can scan.

This will clone the groups belonged to, permissions & other items. This is at/on the server by an admin.

Are you using any kind of specialized scanning software? IF you aree, is she set up as a user with scanning permissions?

Where I work, we have scanning software where each scanning person has to have permission both to scan/index online and to do batch scanning.

Hi All, Solved it.

There was no Specialist Scanning Software, just the Twain32 Driver that came with the Fujitsu Scanner.

I solved it the hard way, Basically taking a User profile that worked with the scanner from the Local System and Copying it, renaming the relevant folders and files and Swapping out the users files for the new users.
I edited the ntuser system files for application to the User that didn't originally work, then deleted the roaming profile of that user.
The user then logs on, Accessing the Local Profile and logs off again, propagating the local profile to the server (roam). After re-installing certain software (SkyPE business and a CRM) the user had original functionality with the scanner working.

It took a bit of modification from rvnGuy's original reply, but all is well and for the help, he receives a star.
Thank you both for your time.. :)

THANKS for posting back with your success.

This really might assist another with a similar problem.

Your user setup is a bit more complicated than you posted owing to the "roaming" setup & software specific issues.
