Scanner not recognised

I have a dimension 8100 running ME. I am trying to setup a Trust parrallel scanner on my pc, no luck!

It seems the pc will not detect the scanner at all, i use another scanner via usb, and that works fine.

I presume it has something to do with the fact im using it through the parallel port, which works fine with my printer.

I have tried to change the bios setting for the printer port to EPP, no luck. The pc simply does not pick it up.

I have downloaded the driver software from the website, but......nothing.

what is the sequence of events in hp deskjet600 printer
is there any timing machanism

What do you mean by timing?
There are sensors on the logic board....this should be posted as a new thread.
